Biography of Katherine R. Boulukos

 

  Katherine R. Boulukos has a BA from Queens College and a New York State Insurance Broker/Agent license, in addition to graduate business course credits from New York University.  She is the owner of the Boulukos Insurance Agency, and a private yacht charter company, Grecian Charter Yacht ‘n ‘Sail.   She has been chairperson and co-editor of three books on Greek food, the latest being The Complete Book of Greek Cooking, Harper Collins.  She is also contributing editor to the Food Lovers Guide to Restaurants, Addison Wesley.   She is on the Board of the Greek Food and Wine Institute, and has taught at adult programs in Great Neck and Lawrence.

She has been president of St. Anna’s Philoptochos for four years at the Cathedral of St. Paul, and is serving fourth  term on the Direct Archdiocesan District Philoptochos Board.  Katherine   is founding member of the Solon Society, the Hellenic University Club of Long Island, and served as president and currently on that board, as well as past President and Chairman of the Board of the Long Island Arts Council, and she still serves on that board. She is secretary of the Greek American Women’s Network, a national organization from l995 to the present, which has 600 members.

She is married for 52 years with two adult children, both college graduates.  Her various hobbies include sailing a 52’ sloop, collecting Greek antiques and artifacts, sewing and tennis.

 

 

 

Biography of Anastasia Nicholas 
 

Anastasia Nicholas has a BS from Queens College and an MS from Hunter College.  She also has an Administrative and Supervision Certificate form Hunter College, and has taken computer and accounting courses at the New School and Hunter College.

Anastasia has been a teacher at Hunter College, New York City from l962 to l995.   She is also the owner of the Sunset Cove Marina, in East Hampton, NY.  She is a lecturer on Greek food, Adult Education instructor at Ithaca, NY, and Fort Lee, NJ.  She has been an editor of her church newsletter at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, NY.   She is currently president of the Greek American Women’s Network, a national organization, with 600 members, from l995 to the present.

She is married for 50 years, with two adult children both college graduates.  Her hobbies include collecting oral histories on videotapes, and volunteering for charitable organization.  She collects Greek records, antiques and historical textiles, artifacts and books.
